Residential Trip - Day 2

31st May 2018

We started day two in fine form this morning with the girls beating the boys in a race to be at the breakfast table by 8am! 💪
With our stomachs filled we boarded two buses to take us out to the Marble Arch Caves GeoPark.
A half hour journey took us through the Fermanagh countryside to our destination.
We were introduced to the history of the caves with a brilliant 20 minute short movie in the building’s theatre.
We then began our tour, descending 150 steps down deep undergrou...nd where we came face to face with a very noisy frog at the cave entrance!
An educational and enjoyable tour followed with Mr Fitzsimons able to part his GCSE Geography knowledge of stalagmites and stalactites to anybody that cared to listen 😁
Our tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable and led us through rivers and caverns, showing us all the amazing features of the cave system.
After the tour we headed to the gift shop where slime, bouncy balls and sticks of rock were top of the purchasing list despite everyone saying that they were going to buy presents for their parents🤦‍♂️
With the weather drying up we are very much looking forward to our banana boating and kayaking session after lunch.
