Final
St Joseph's 2 St Patrick's, Saul 0
The team opened with a good 2-0 win over Saul. An own goal from the St Patrick's side opened the scoring before an absolute thunderbolt from Charlie Gelston sealed the result.
In the second game the side opened strongly against Ardglass and led through a Conáire Laverty header and a slick finish by Ryan Hackett.
Ardglass pulled a goal back but Killough held on for victory.
The next game saw a cagey affair with Saul with both teams drawing a blank.
By this stage we had secured top spot and our place in the final.
In the last game of the group we drew one each with Ardglass.
Gerry Ward was the Killough marksman.
The final saw us take on a very talented Saul side.
However, Killough dominated from start to finish and goals from Ryan Hackett and Gerry Ward secured a 2-0 win and the cup.
A huge well done to goes to the panel of players for this wonderful achievement.
Over three days of action and ten games the Killough boys remained unbeaten.
There were great performances all over the pitch with goalkeeper Patrick Hutchinson absolutely superb with some fantastic saves.
Conáire Laverty was a rock at the back and was ably assisted by the solid Lewis McClenaghan.
Captain Daire McLaughlin broke forward with purpose while Charlie Gelston controlled matters in the middle of the field.
Gerry Ward and Jamie O'Neill were full of industry on the wings.
Ryan Hackett revelled in the playmaker role while Leo Noble and Cody Hutchinson terrorised defences with their pace and trickery.
Jack Laverty and Philip Gelston also played huge roles in the previous rounds and they contributed significantly to gaining the silverware.
Once again we thank the parents who came to support the team and assisted with lifts. We are very appreciative of this.
The day was finished off with a trip to McDonald's.
Another piece of sporting silverware for the school as St Joseph's continues to excel.
