SHARE Centre Day 2, Part 2
*** SHARE Centre Residential 2019 ***
After lunch we put on our wet suits and made the short trip down to the slipway beside the jetty. After a briefing on the skills and intricacies of kayaking, we went out onto the lough. The St Joseph’s pupils took to it extremely well and were able to navigate themselves to the far shore where we lit a fire and roasted some marshmallows.
A frenetic race back to the jetty took place with the controversial trio of Miss Eppleston, Amylee an...d Eva winning despite several acts of sabotage and soakings directed towards Mr Fitzsimons’ crew that included Darragh and Damien. The boys weren’t happy!
Next up was the banana boating. With the fastest boat in the marina towing the banana, we were prepared for a thrill a minute ride. It certainly didn’t disappoint. Everyone enjoyed numerous journeys and more times than enough the ripple of waves ensured that everyone got thrown off and got a good soaking in the process.
The afternoon was finished off with a couple of sight seeing speedboat rides around the lough.
With dinner done we will finish the day off with a trip to the indoor swimming pool.
We’ve the climbing wall and the inflatable slide tomorrow morning before lunch and then the preparations before we leave to return home.
A fantastic trip so far!
