School GAA team on fire at blitz!

10th Feb 2017

The school GAA team made their way to the Red High this morning for the huge Down GAA blitz.
We got to enjoy two games of hurling and four football matches over the course of two and half hours of fun filled action.
Despite limited experience in hurling, our boys and girls picked up the game like naturals in their two games against the Gaelscoíl from Kilkeel and St Colmcille's of Downpatrick.
We then progressed to four games in the football with St Caolan's, Darragh Cross, St Mary's, Banbridge, St Brigid's, Downpatrick, and St Malachy's, Castlewellan, all our opponents.
It was a great morning of action in which all the children excelled and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Many thanks to the parents/grandparents that assisted with lifts and to those that turned up to support the team.
If the players could return their jersey, socks and shorts back to Mr Fitzsimons on the first day that we return to school after the mid term that would be greatly appreciated.
